THE 5-STEP PROCESS
Submit the project via email
Pre-proposal document - no funding commitment
The project proposal must be detailed in Ceva Wildlife Research Fund submission form and must include:
- A summary and the background of the study
- The partners involved and their contributions
- Expected impacts and deliverables
- A budget estimate and timeline

Evaluation by the Advisory Committee
The permanent members of the advisory committee evaluate the proposals received. Depending on the project’s theme, experts may be invited to join them to provide additional insight.
👉 Meet the members of the Advisory Committee
The committee makes recommendations based on five criteria:
- Strategic alignment with the missions of Ceva Wildlife Research Fund,
- Reliability of the partner,
- Operational, regulatory, legal, and scientific feasibility of the project,
- Expected impacts and deliverables,
- Budget and timeline.
Following this meeting, the Ceva WRF team will contact the project leader again:
- PROJECT NOT SELECTED
The project leader is informed of the decision. - PROJECT SELECTED FOR FURTHER REVIEW
The team will discuss certain points with the project leader to clarify details and ensure a better understanding of the proposal before making a final decision.
Approval by the Board of Directors
If, following the further evaluation phase, the advisory committee issues a favorable recommendation, the application is forwarded to the board of directors. The board deliberates to make the final decision regarding support for the project.
Collaboration Agreement
An agreement is drawn up to define the terms of the collaboration and specify the details of support (in-kind and/or financial) as well as communication.
Collaboration Follow-Up
Ceva WRF’s support goes beyond financial assistance. Throughout the project, the Ceva WRF team is actively involved:

- 🕒 Regular progress meetings
Two progress meetings are held each year to monitor the project’s progress. These meetings serve as milestones throughout the project, allowing us to assess its development, adjust actions as needed, and ensure continuous monitoring.
- 🧠 Expertise
The Ceva WRF team provides its scientific and operational expertise to enrich the project.
- 🌐 Access to a network of experts
The project leader is connected with experts who can provide advice or add value to the project.
- 👤 Dedicated contact
A dedicated point of contact within Ceva WRF ensures smooth and responsive follow-up throughout the project. A second contact dedicated to communication is also assigned to promote the project and ensure its visibility.
What to know before submitting:
- To facilitate the evaluation of your proposal, we encourage you to include any relevant documents as attachments to your email to demonstrate your organization’s operational capacity (activity reports, articles of incorporation, etc.).
- This evaluation process involves external experts and requires multiple rounds of communication. It may therefore take some time - up to six months.
In the event of an urgent situation, particularly during an ongoing severe outbreak, please specify the level of urgency in your submission email so that your application can be processed accordingly.
- Ceva Wildlife Research Fund reserves the right to assess whether an exclusive partnership is appropriate for a given project. Co-partnerships may also be considered depending on the context.
